| In just under a mile above Pondtail Bridge, the canal reaches Reading Road Bridge in Fleet.

| The original brick arch bridge, built c1792 was replaced in 1892. That, in turn, was replaced in 1953 with this low-level one which has the dubious (and unwanted) distinction of being the lowest bridge on the canal.

After the canal was restored, this lack of foresight can cause severe difficulty for some boats.
