Bridges over the canal

  Ongoing Project
It is intended to expand these bridge pages to include items of interest along the canal.

Eventually all bridges across the canal will be included.

As new pages are added they may become a useful guide to the canal.

  THE 100ft LINE
Many of the original brick-arch bridges on the canal were built using this technique. Full details
A list of the canal bridges

There were around 80 bridges over the canal, some 30 of these being in Surrey, about the same number in Hampshire up to the Greywell Tunnel, with around 15 more to Basingstoke. Some have been demolished, others replaced to suit modern traffic conditions.

As new pages are published, related entries in the list below will become active links.
