Screen resolution

Currently, it appears that the majority of viewers use a screen resolution of 800 x 600 and so these pages have been designed with that in mind.
Browser Incompatibility

The design of webpages can take a lot of time, and it is very disheartening to find, after a lot of effort, that a page which looks fine in Microsoft Internet Explorer (currently I use IE5) appears less than desired when displayed in Netscape Navigator or other browsers.

Personally I feel that life is too short to make duplicate pages for each type of browser (why should one have to anyway?) so, until the way different browsers display pages becomes standardised, I have chosen to suggest IE5 to view my work.

I am sorry if this will not please those who favor Netscape Navigator, but I do think that an author should be entitled to have one's creation displayed in the desired manner. This should not be too restrictive since both browsers are available free!

Maybe this can form a plea that Microsoft and Netscape (and indeed other browser makers) should at least ensure that their products conform to a common standard?
