Greywell Tunnel

The tunnel is a monument to the ability of 18th century engineers
and builders, using basic tools, to construct a navigation channel
for 1230 yards, 400ft below Greywell Hill. It is the 12th longest
canal tunnel in the United Kingdom and the 2nd longest in southern
England.
The Ash Aqueduct

The route of a new relief road along the Blackwater Valley crossed
the Basingstoke Canal at the Ash Embankment. This necessitated the
replacing of a section of the embankment with an aqueduct to take
the road under the canal, and it was constructed within a period of
nine months during the winter of 1994/95.

The Frimley Aqueduct

Until 1995 the only aqueduct on the canal, it spans the London to Southampton railway and was doubled in size in 1901 to accomodate the additional railway tracks.
The Need for an Adequate Water Supply

Even when it was constructed, the canal's water supply was not really
adequate. Today, with an increased demand for water from commercial
and domestic consumers, the available supply of water for the canal
is even less. Find out what steps are being taken to alleviate this
problem.
