Canal Exhibition in
Basingstoke
To celebrate the celebrate
the centenary of the last boat to reach Basingstoke (18th
February 1910) the Society has an exhibition running in the Willis
Museum, Basingstoke.
This will be there until the end of February.
It also has photos of Alec Harmsworth's
attempt to reach Basingstoke in 1913 and some details of the
Canal Heritage Footpath in Basingstoke and plans for the Hants
& Berks Canal with a new route to Basingstoke.

Maria Miller, MP for
Basingstoke has recently agreed to become a Vice-President of
the society. She is seen below with Phil Riley &
John Ross at the Basingstoke Centenary exibition
