Cruises by Hotel Narrowboats are operated personally by your proprietor and host David Dare. A fresh cruising programme is created for each year and includes stays from one night to twelve or more. Our standards are exemplary; our cuisine highly acclaimed. Our beautiful craft Rose and Castle celebrated their 25th year of operation in 1995.

Accomodation is in a cosy single, twin or double cabin (some with en-suite toilet and shower) and, while compact, offers a private wash basin, shaver point, drawers, and hanging space. Each cabin is decorated airily, and has its own picture window from which to watch the world go by! Our large lounge and dining room offer especially generous views of passing scenery.

Cuisine is English Gourmet and of exemplary standard. Just about everything is home-made, for we have no microwave nor deep-freeze. Indulge yourself!

Relaxation is a byword for our cruises. From our comfy armchairs watch the scenery slip by, or sip a drink from our bar; browse through our comprehensively stocked on-board library, or bask in our comfortable well decks situated at the bows.

Activity aplenty for those who want it! Learn to steer the boats, walk the towpath, work the locks.... this is not only a holiday for those who seek rest!

Scenery and wildlife abound for bird watchers, photographers and industrial heritage buffs - this is the holiday for you. Don't hesitate to call us to discuss the cruise most suited to your personal preferences.

Your stay afloat includes full board accomodation (this includes morning coffee/afternoon tea with home-made cakes too!). All your linen, towels, soaps and shampoo are included, also access at all times to our on-board bar and library in the lounge. We are on hand 24 hours a day should you need us; cruising is from approximately 09.30 to 17.30 with stops at places of interest and lunch on the way.
